Dd Wrt Firmware Downloads

Download: 12.3 MB: 2018-03-26: 30356: DD-WRT (Professional) Firmware for the WZR-HP-G300NH NOTE: This is only for version 1 of the router model! Download: 20.84 MB: 2016-04-25: 1.76: User-Friendly firmware version 1.76: Download: 14.87 MB: 2018-03-26: 30356: Windows: This firmware is for the version 2 models ONLY! Do not use this on any other.

  • You can now upgrade the DD-WRT firmware (dlink-dir882-webflash.bin). Go to Administration Firmware Upgrade and browse to the 'webflash.bin' file. To go back to the D-Link firmware, download the latest firmware from support.dlink.com/dir-882-us. The current is 1.10 which contains 2 firmware files - 1.04 and 1.10.
  • DD-WRT is a type of software called firmware. This kind of program is permanently integrated with a piece of hardware, such as a router. Firmware typically affects how a device interacts with other devices. DD-WRT firmware replaces the existing firmware on a standard router – this process is often called “flashing.”.
  • D-Link does not support 3rd party firmware installed on their routers. If you have problems, issues, or whatnot, D-Link WILL NOT help you. D-Link routers are open source and allow for 3rd party firmware to be flashed, but YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE for what happens. You can (almost) always crash recover the router and put D-Link firmware back on.

Hi, dudes.
OK, here is the thing. I easily installed DD-WRT to my router (Linksys WRT54GL), then I wanted to test OpenWRT and got it installed. Now the problem is, how do I install DD-WRT again to my router?
I have tried install DD-WRT firmware trough OpenWRT WWW-interface but it didn't work.
Any ideas are more than welcome.
Thanks!

Yeah, got it work. eventually.
Weird, but I got it work when I switched from Opera to Firefox. All though, router never restarted itself. I had to restart it manually and give it 30 secs restart from back of router button.

In the peacock thread, it does say that there are issues loading firmware with firefox and to use something else.
I have had consistent issues with FF 3.x, 4 and 5 and firmware updates
I have had success with Google Chrome v14.0.835.186 on XP

This is an old thread but since I had so much trouble getting my WRT150N v1 back to DD-WRT from OpenWRT I thought it my duty to post. For the WRT150N v1 I have had very little success flashing non-openwrt bins when in openwrt and I have tried dozens of times. I was unable to find a 'generic' trx file as noted above on the DD-WRT site. I was able to find a trx file on the Download page of DD-WRT site which worked.
I used the following procedures to get from OpenWRT to DD-WRT on the WRT150Nv1 (every time):
1. Download a copy of PuTTY. SSH into the router suing PuTTY using the router IP address and login to OpenWRT.
2. Execute the following commands:
wget http://www.dd-wrt.com/dd-wrtv2/downloads/v24-sp1/Consumer/Linksys/WRT150N_v1/dd-wrt.v24_mini_asus.trx -O /tmp/firmware.trx
mtd -r write /tmp/firmware.trx linux
3. Allow the router to reboot.
This downloads DD-WRT mini_asus trx file into the tmp directory. You can then flash your drive using the mtd command.

I just did this. Here is my explanation on an Atheros device with TFTP:

Hello there,
I have a TP-LINK WDR3600 V.1.5 with openwrt (Barrier Breaker 14.07) installed. I would like to upgrade it with DD-WRT but i am not sure which firmware should i use from the list: https://www.dd-wrt.com/site/support/router-database.
Please let me also know which installation method is recommended in that case.

From OpenWrt to DD-WRT on the WRT54GL
Via OpenWrt webif GUI:
  • Goto System / Upgrade (Firmware Upgrade)
  • Download the DD-WRT dd-wrt.v24_std_generic.bin image to your PC.
  • Upload the dd-wrt.v24_std_generic.bin image and click on the Upgrade button
  • Wait 2 minutes. The router will reboot itself automatically after the upgrade is complete.
  • Do a hard reset and clear your browsers cache
  • You are done! Access the router via DD-WRT web GUI at http://192.168.1.1/ (username: root/password: admin)

I tried this method for my wrt1200ac router, running OpenWRT and I receive the following error.
'The uploaded image file does not contain a supported format. Make sure that you choose the generic image format for your platform.'
Is there another file format available for the dd-wrt generic image?
Thanks!

Greetings,
I also am trying to switch from openwrt to DD-WRT.
I found this thread using the search function.
I also get the same error.
'The uploaded image file does not contain a supported format. Make sure that you choose the generic image format for your platform.'
Why does DD-WRT not have another file format so that we can switch?
Thanks

Impossible to do it on the Linksys 3200ACM router. I had the same error when using the GUI :
Code:
'The uploaded image file does not contain a supported format. Make sure that you choose the generic image format for your platform.'

I tried with the MTD commands lines but For the last I have this error :
Code:
root@OpenWrt:/tmp# mtd write dd-wrt.v24_std_generic.trx linux
Could not open mtd device: linux
Can't open device for writing!

I tried the TFTP and have the error of :
Code:
-ash: nvram: not found

There is no package that can solve the nvram error.
CAN BE HARMFUL TO THE ROUTER.
To install DD-WRT :
I made a HARD RESET by pressing for at least 20s on the RESET button. I restarted the configuration on the OEM firmware and then installed DD-WRT.
Flash the factory-to-ddwrt.bin

This weekend I decided it was time to replace the stock firmware on my WRT1200AC v2.I’ve had the unit for a while now and it’s been working well but I had a little timeon my hands so I opted to give it a go.The process itself was pretty easy, but finding the right information was not. Hopefully this saves someone else some time…

The Journey

If you aren’t interested in the narrative, jump down the The Process for the actual stepsI used to flash.

I’ve been using Advanced Tomato on the last couple of routers I’ve had so that is where I started, however I couldn’t find any indication this was supported. The 1200 is not on Shibby’s list. There is also a decent size thread on linksysinfo which didn’t leave me with the warm and fuzzies. I finally gave up hope after failing to find it on flashrouters.com

I also checked support for OpenWRT, however only the V1 is listed was listed so I moved to DD-WRT.

I finally started to have some hope when I found Linksys WRT1200AC v2 listed in the router database. However the page simply presents you two files to download with no explanation of what you should do with them.On top of that these files are marked Beta. That never instills high levels of confidence. After several minutes of googling around all things pointed to the Peacock Thread. Sp studio systems excalibur 3200 manual transfer. This is one of the most confusing set of instructions I’ve ever read and it left me wondering if I should really be proceeding here. I won’t go into all the confusion points but lets highlight a couple:

DON’T USE THE ROUTER DATABASE! The router database has recommended some less stable builds

uhh… OK…. Then why does it even exist?

FOLLOW THE PROCESS FOR FLASHING YOUR ROUTER THAT IS IN THE WIKI.http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/InstallationOnce you have dd-wrt installed on your route

OK, fair enough, except there is one problem. The 1200 isn’t on that page…

Read the WIKI and follow the wiki for INITIAL flashing of your router. There has been a lot of work recently to improve the wiki for broadcom devices and the wiki is now mostly up to date and using good files. Don’t flash firmware based on youtube or instructions on another non dd-wrt website. Often youtube or other internet instructions are out of date/incorrect! Read and follow the instructions here in the dd-wrt wiki. One thing you REALLY need to look at is the procedure for installing to your router. This is extremely important as there are a lot of subtle variation

Uh… They keep hammering home to use the WIKI but its not there…

So at this point I’m feeling skeptical that this is going to work, but what the heck, its early enough that stores are still open and the wife is away for a few hours. I’ve got time to buy a new one if this all goes south and I brick this thing so I press on.

First up I did take their advice and download all the files I needed (instructions, firmware, etc) locally before proceeding.

I can’t recall exactly where I found it, but I found some mentions that the version in the database might not be the latest so I started browsing the DD-WRT FTP Server. I finally landed in ftp://ftp.dd-wrt.com/betas/2017/03-30-2017-r31791/linksys-wrt1200acv2/ which had the files I needed. There were two files in the directory so I grabbed them both not knowing which I needed. Turns out the only file needed was the factory-to-ddwrt.bin. While I’m not positive, I believe the other file (ddwrt-linksys-wrt1200acv2-webflash.bin) would be used I was already running DD-WRT and was looking to upgrade.

At this point I was ready to begin:

  1. I disconnected all ethernet cables, except for the PC I’m using to do the flashing
  2. Perform the 30-30-30 reset. After this is complete you’re left with a factory reset device. Login to http://192.168.1.1 with the default password (admin).
  3. Navigate to Connectivity –> Basic. Click the Choose button and select factory-to-ddwrt.bin. This will take a couple minutes. Once complete this the web UI again on http://192.168.1.1.
  4. At this point DD-WRT was in fact installed and forcing me to set a password. This felt like a pointless step since I was about to 30-30-30 it again, but I played it safe and it anyway.
  5. Perform another 30-30-30 reset. I’m honestly skeptical that this is really needed at this point, but I figured 90 seconds of wasted time was better than a bricked 1200 so I complied.
  6. Once it came back up I needed to do the password dance again

That’s it!!. At this point it was flashed and I started re-applying my configurations for my IP addresses, port forwards, etc.

I want to be very clear that I don’t believe what I did is «supported» so tread carefully, but it’s been 9 hours since I did the upgrade, I’ve streamed some content and done misc browsing without any issues. Obviously is hard to declare success and stability after only 9 hours, so fingers crossed!
